I very much hope to meet you soon.

Hello, my name is Louise and I would like to welcome you to the Glen Affric Hotel. We like to think that we offer you a friendly home from home for everyone to enjoy. The hotel is right in the heart of three mysterious and majestic Highland glens, Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. These create an atmosphere of great beauty with majestic mountains, rivers, dark lochs and tumbling falls e.g Plodda falls and Dog falls.

In the Glens you will enjoy wonderful peace and tranquillity as well as many places of interest and fun activities. The fishing is excellent with wild brown trout in the lochs and wild brown trout and salmon on the river. The hotel has boats for hire on the lochs, catch and cook facility as well as a drying room and rod racks. You can enjoy walking, pony trekking and mountain biking through spectacular scenery. The Caledonian pine forest nature reserve has many marked trails and there are sixteen Munro's in the area as well as our three spectacular Glens.

Loch Ness and its monster are just 12 miles away and the City of Inverness is an easy drive. The area has a long and rich history having been occupied since prehistoric times and being the seat of the Chisholm and Fraser Clans. It is thought that Bonny Prince Charlie took refuge here in 1746. You can enjoy this history on our organised tours or explore on you own with the help of our local written guides. The local heritage centre is an excellent place to begin your exploration of highland life and the local shop has a range of books and souvenirs to take home.

The Glens are also an ideal area for bird watching, climbing, painting, stalking, photography, astronomy ( winter is best), geology, looking at the development of hydro electricity, environmental science and car and motorcycle touring. We have undercover secure parking available although in the Glens you do not really need to think about security.

The hotel is in the village of Cannich allowing you to experience the friendship of village life where you will meet locals as well as people from all over the world. I feel very very lucky to live here and would very much like to share it with you. The hotel offers good value for money on food, accommodation (Ensuite B & B from £20 and Bunkroom B & B £10ppn) and entertainment. We serve food all day and the bar and lounge are good places to meet and chat with new friends and old.

To keep you entertained we have a range of activities that everyone can enjoy e.g. quiz nights, games etc. . Please see our events page for further details. If you would like to relax in peace and quiet we have a peaceful lounge upstairs with views out over the Glen and TV. For the youngster we have Sherry's teen café which is open every night and during the day in the summer. This is a happy safe place where young people can meet and enjoy a range of soft drinks, sweets, games and organised activities. We can also organise events for you so if you would like a special party or activity arranged please just ask. Pets are welcome at no charge. For further information or help please do not hesitate to get in touch with us as we are always happy to help.

I very much hope to meet you soon.
